Hopefully with a bit more cloth to it.

Traditionally and as is good custom, bass players get to apply the double sided tape. They're handy at such things and generally selfless.

I like the shirt. It works with the Bongo.

That's a new one on me, not heard of one of those before... any comparison to any other instrument, playing and/or soundwise, Mark...?

Seriously, you've not heard of the 18v toilet seat?

The Musicman Bongo was a joint design with BMW.  The looks aren't for everyone by a long shot, but the 18v electronics with 4 band EQ make it a sonic monster.  The dual humbucker model that I have goes from smooth creamy funk to balls to the wall rock.  And, despite the polarising looks, the Bongo is wonderfully ergonomic when you're wearing it - it feels better when I'm wearing it than any other bass I've played.

Soundwise, it's a different animal to a Stingray.  It has that great Musicman active vibe to it, but has a much wider tonal range.  I've played dual humbucker Bongos in a hard rock situation and made drummers and guitarists run crying to their mothers.  And that's with flats.

I've led a very sheltered life, Mark... TV meant a thing in the corner of the room with pretty pictures (and I still have no idea how they get all those little people in there, especially those new flat ones...) until I found the LBO... well actually, I was head-hunted, but that's another story...

I quite like the looks, though...  probably got the idea from the post-party bash for the new "Bubble-Car"... (talking to G*d on the "great-white-telephone"8))

You do keep some interesting company...  ;)

Nice pics Mark!  I remember a gig several years back we did at the Stephen F. Austin Hotel in downtown Austin.  Our lead singer showed me the dress she was going to wear and I asked "won't your underwear show through?" which she replied I won't be wearing any......... :o

Their mothers were wearing flats?

I've only played one Bongo, really liked the sound. It would never work for me, though, I need a flat top. Preferably a slab body, I'd rather not even have a forearm cutaway.

With that shirt Mark, I have to ask, after all your gear was loaded did you ride your Vespa home?

Love the Bongo, if I were a rich man ...etc      That shirt looks great! and the pants are certainly a big improvement on the one you showed us with the dual TL stack.  ;D

My only gripe with my double HB Bongo is that it feels too light. Bit like a toy. A Stingray feels more substantial though the Bongo has no doubt the more substantial tone (a Stingray is snappier though). Something primal in me associates weight with value and assertive tone. Silly, I know.

A lot of people think that heavy instrument=good tone, so Uwe you are not alone. I hope that helps.
