Not only no cure for the summertime blues, but also not for cancer. Sad. I had a copy of Vincebus Eruptum, whatever that title meant.

Are my eyes deceiving me (no doubt due to the hallucinogenic might still mushrooming emanating from this  performance several decades later) or did Dickie indeed have a J single coil right behind the neck?

Loudest freakin' band I ever heard :o  They had to be twice the decibles of the Who.  Back in the "Pit" days there was a guy around who did their sound system and he had plenty of stories to tell :).

RIP Dickie.

No, I saw it too. Three pickup Jazz? I spent too much time looking on the internet for a picture that I know was a fold-out center on one of the albums of Blue Cheer on stage, but the only one I found was too small to see, and I can't remember any details from the concert at the Stardust Lanes Ballroom, except that it was LOUD!

looks like he's got a J-3. what kinda amps did they use?

four marshall stacks daisy chained each, as far as i know. marshall major?

rahock

Marshalls as far as the eye could see ;D Unlike other rock shows where people would try to get as close to the stage as possible, everyone pressed toward the back of the room to try to escape the volume :o
They did a show or a live album on some peer and killed all the fish in the water. The EPA was not too thrilled. I believe they were fined. Can't recall the details but trust me , these guys were freakin' loud like nobody I've ever seen. That includes about a half dozen Who shows.
