Mop-top hairdo, an absolutely stupid dance routine and a Thunderbird.

That singer is NOT the kind of guy you'd want your daughter to marry...

Every moment was breathtaking.  Wonderful.  Even Trini Lopez looked good, which he really didn't do outside of The Dirty Dozen and Adam 12.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.

I confess, I always liked "I'm Telling You Now" which was a pretty big hit in the US. The other stuff was way too sappy for me.

It didn't start as a dance routine, that was just the way Freddie moved on stage. After they became popular, the whole band would do it.

Freddie (Garrity) passed away a couple of years ago. He was a nerd, but an original one.

I agree that "I'm Telling You Now" was a pretty good song in spite of the fact that the rest of their songs weren't really very good.

True professionals, The Dreamers. To get involved in such an act, then there's gotta be some good money involved. They look, and they sound, ridiculous.
But what many do not know, is that they could rock. And heavy. The B-side to their first 45, the strange waltz If you gotta make a fool of somebody, was called Feel so blue. It's a rhythm'n'bluestainted tune in minor. Great guitar, driving bass, and strong force in the drums. But nowhere to be found on Youtube. I'm not surprised.

Many years later they could still do it - even with an ugly Fender bass!

And now that you're all so confessional about what you really like, I can finally admit to this here (that is obviously not the original Blue Swede/Björn Skifs, but the vid is lovingly done in Monkees style with lots of cowbell and a bass player who will be my role model from now on):

I love "I'm Telling You Now", never could stand to watch them play that or "Do The Freddie".

I loved that Blue Swede album as a kid. I still have it, actually. Their version of "Hooked on a Feeling" is the best one out there. They did a pretty good "Working in a Coal Mine" as well, though Devo pretty much owns that one to anyone from my era...

Now, that bass player looks great! But Uwe, don't you think there's someone else here, who should base his roll model on that hairy womans style?
