I built it, starting with an abused body that Barklessdog gave me several years ago. Modified Warmoth body, Mighty Mite neck, Gibson TB+ pups, Schaller bridge, Hipshot Ulrtralites/D tuner. 

Really nice job on the cutaway and moving the neck pocket.  I was wondering about the 'plank' remark, is the Warmoth body heavy?

Have to credit Barkless for the deep cutaway and neck pocket. I actually moved it in a little further in order to have the butchered pickup routes properly positioned, based on a 60s non-rev. This F-bird is based on one of JAE's black ones. The guy that worked on the body did a terrible job, THEN painted it the wrong color! I saved it from becoming fire wood.

Yes, HEAVY! It's 1-3/4'' thick.

Worst was it took the guy a year to ruin it.

He made the pickup routes too big & painted it the wrong color. The guy was so highly recommended by a local shop that he did all their set ups & repairs.

Really tight spacing on the pots/jack.  That p/g logo looks interesting.  How far off was the color from what you wanted?

I wanted Pelham, which I could let slide, but the wait time & what he did was unforgivable. I ended up making my own body out a single piece of Honduran Mahogany & found a "real" luthier who knew what the heck he was doing & routed / set up & painted me an amazing bass.

The wood I found was so nice, he talked me into a tobacco burst that was used on 60's firebirds, with a slight amber tint. He also planed the body down to 1 5/8" instead of 1 3/4" to keep the weight down a little (about a 10lb bass). He also angled the heel block and counter sunk the neck bolts. All for a really low price and got it done quickly.

The logo I design combined a John Entwistle drawing he did with the Thunderbird logo.

Really Nice!  Guess that's the difference between a luthier and a repairman.  Thumbs up on the Buzzard meets Tbird logo and finish.

He's also a heck a bassist.

He works out of a local Music store and is one of those guys that sets a bass in minutes, effortlessly, that makes them play like butter.

I took my LP bass to him when I first got it. It felt uncomfortable with the curved top & chancy neck to play. After he set it up, it plays great & is now one of my best playing basses. The other is my Fenderbird which sound like an Alembic- Maple & mahogany are a great combination.

They are both great looking FB's. I love the Buzzbird logo too. John, your tunes always have that primal edge to them with a hint of prog. Always catch me and hold me waiting to see whats going to happen next.

I like the Telebird look. It looks like the neck is too far out from the body though.
