Next scratch project: Short scale, HB Jag bass

Yep, I'm gonna do a Jag bass, hollow, with (maybe) one Model G pup at the neck. What do ya think? Scott?

Bill, Il like the Hollow Jag concept but I think one Model G at the neck will leave you with a very woofy bass. I like these pups in the sweet spot, combined with the coil splitting it makes for a very versitile arrangement.

hmm... I've always thought of them as F*nd*r's "reverse Jazz", somehow, but then I'm kinda space-for-rent at times... could be interesting...

I see your point Scott. Maybe I'll just have to use those nice sounding 1968 DeArmond made Coronado bass pups I kept for myself and a future project. I think they'd look cool on a Jag shaped HB. Yep, that sounds like a better idea!

No tummy or top contours for this one since I'll be doing double bound body on it. I'm probably going with a solid color as well. Fiesta red or sea foam green maybe?!? The neck will probably be maple board, bound and with pearl inlays.

F-hole/s or not? I haven't decided.

That P bass doesn't look like seafoam green to me, that's more like lime.

Yeah, that's more like it. I think the tint took it into the lime green realm. I'm also thinking maybe a light blue like RR's Sonic Blue or even lighter like the old 60's TBs.

I'm not big on matching headstocks in most cases, but for a seafoam green or sonic blue Jag type I think it would work fine.

Go for the matching head would be my opinion, which is generally agreed to be not worth the brains its thought upon...
