Ok, she's all finished except for some fine tuning.  I ended up using Danish Oil for a satin "used" look.  She sounds great!  I recommend the TV Jones pups!  A nice clear hollow sound with no mud!

holy crap that's nice!  oddly enough, out of hundreds of basses i have test driven over the years a 4005 is the only one i can recall as being particularly outstanding.

that is very nice indeed.what are the controls wired to do?

IIRC they're just two passive volume controls.

Yep, 2 simple volume controls.  I never use the tone controls on my basses, so I figured what the heck!  Just dialing the bridge pickup in and out gives a nice variation in the treble output of the bass.  That's all I need.

It sounds great by the way, that huge hollow body really resonates.

Very clean & elegant looking. Love the back.

I don't use tone controls either. Looks great - love the "f"-holes (cat's eye?). Where is the strap pin?

Yep, the f. holes are Ric cat's eyes.  I got around to putting the pin on the end of the top horn a couple days after the picture.
