Mystery Thunderbird onstage...

Walked into the Stone Pony just in time to catch the support band's last song -  and snap this pic. Custom job?

Judging by the placement of the knobs, I'd say custom.  At the very least, it's modded.

Looks like a Fender style bridge. Is that even possible with a set neck NR?

I think it is, if the neck angle is zero.
Music was better when ugly people were allowed to make it.

Not a BaCH as far as I can see.
Plus I think I know who owns a BaCHbird and who doesn't ;)

I've seen that colour on Epi NR Tbirds. And they featured that bridge.
But the Epi's had the P J pickup combination. And the reverse headstock.

So I don't know.

The bridge pickup looks like a 3-screw - or at least the cover is. The neck pickup almost looks like an Epi TBIV unit that has been plasti-chromed. I will say that from the one song I heard, this thing sounded real good - big bottom end and just the right amount of edge.

I'm guessing carpal tunnel syndrome.  I've heard that John Wetton is now thumb-picking when he plays for the same reason.

I've got the DVD of a recent ASIA tour of Japan, and Wetton has a pick TAPED to his thumb! He did a really great job I might add. Not to get off topic, but they sounded really great doing material from everyone's respective past bands. I never could have imagined Wetton singing Roundabout (or any YES for that matter), but he pulled it off nicely.

I was wondering about that myself - I'm glad we got an answer.

The body looks like a modded epi. Cool bass at any rate.
