Well, the seller does say the price is high and is open to offers, so offer him a more realistic market price and see how it goes.

ilan

1967 4005/6 LH, only one in existence. $15K BIN.

Jeff Scott

Dorothy ought to buy that for Paul as a Christmas gift as it it probably the rarest bass in his book.  :)

Paul Boyer

Nah. Don't need the bass, but do need the photos. I requested same from the seller. Hope they can provide. Nice catch, Ilan!

'72 FG... Oh those bursts

8.8 lbs., $7,179 BIN. Desktop wallpaper is free...

ilan

Lefty Tux - reasonable (imho) $2,500 BIN price.

Dave W

Very reasonable. Somebody actually wants to sell it rather than just show it off.

Paul Boyer

Quite possibly the only lefty 4003SPC Tuxedo.

4002 WAL. Starting bid $3K, no reserve. 7 days to go.

Dave W

I've always wondered why theses sold so poorly. Price or sound? Never saw one in a store.

This one will bring a hefty price.

Dave W

ilan

I thought it would sell for $8-9K.

Dave W

I wouldn't have been surprised if it had gone that high. It's hard to predict.

67/89 Lefty 4005 - GBP 10K (US$12.4K) BIN

The seller writes - "Only two left handed Rickenbacker 4005 bass guitars were ever made, one was a 6 string finished in Fireglo and this 4 string Mapleglo is the other one.
This bass was originally made in 1967 and was archived/lost in the system at Rickenbacker until it was unearthed and completed 1989. It has a 1967 serial number and all parts are from that era apart from the finish which was applied in 1989."

Paul - can you confirm?

Paul Boyer

I can't confirm the numbers ("only two"), but this and the lefty 4005/6 are the only ones I've seen photos of. Can't confirm the "late" finishing. This Mapleglo 4005 was/is owned by Peter Levett in the U.K. and although a photo I have of it was not used in the book, it may show up in a second edition.
