Very, very close in resemblance to the now reissued 1962 Wilshire which we had in this thread here: http://bassoutpost.com/index.php?topic=1755.0, and while the neckplate is a crime and the bass obviously needs some work, the BIN ain't bad and I might give it a thought. However, I know that there are more ardent and deserving early Epi lovers here than me, so is anybody interested?

This thing really deserves a loving home and should end up with one of us me thinks.

Wow, what thing of beautiful simplicity.  If I had $800 to blow right now I would.  But I don't.  It would probably be right at home in the Fatherland.
I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

BIN it Uwe! I love the simplicity of the bass!

That's pretty cool. Go for it man.

The real question is what color to refin it in?

uwe

Not sure I would. Repair it, yes, patch up a few things, yes. But a complete refin? The one it currently has looks original and "fitting" to me.

Didn't you have an Inverness Green? I love Inverness Green and that could be a refin possibility for the BaCHBird.

I'm with you on that.

My only question would be how bad the neck really is. OTOH, if it plays great and stays in tune, I'm confident your luthier could fix it.

You want it. BIN it, refin it.

Get it!clean it! Keep the mojo and play the fugger!

great bass, love the simple design. Don't wait any longer go and get it. I should leave the finish intact I think. Just patch it up so it's playeble en sound great and then leave it that way.
