For midlife crises, Ricks are cheaper than Harleys - and safer.

Me a couple of weeks ago.  Yes, my midlife crisis arrived and I've bought a Rickenbacker.

Cheers Mark/Bas.  I'm amazed how nice it is.  I'll probably use it intensely over the next few weeks then go back to my Thunderbird(s).

I know a guy who sold his first Ric to buy an alumi-Kramer. It's all good though. The Kramer is a fantastic fretless bass now and "he" has 3 other Rics that are all better than the first.  ;)

No knocking Lumi-Kramers here! Even though their E string isn't quite up there with a long scale either.

Mine is "close enough" to long scale at 33-3/4''. The 20 fret necks were long, the 24 fret necks were short, though I don't know the exact measurement on those. I had an 8 string shorty for a while.
