Mott the Hoople, in it's original line-up, will be doing a reunion show this year.  AWESOME!

I've even heard that Ariel Bender will be there as a guest performer.

True, but his joining Mott came very late in their career.  As I recall, he only shows up on live recordings, and a couple of singles, like "Foxy, Foxy".  I much prefer the original line-up, and got to see them with Bender.  Pick up Standing in the Light for a great live recording of the short-lived Hunter/Ronson band.

and at the Hammersmith/HMV   Apollo/Odean.  My favourite venue in London.   Wish I was still living there to be able to see the show.

My wife and I were talking about it last night.  I think we're going to get tickets and take our first international trip next fall.  I'm getting stoked!   8)

it's too bad you youngsters here have to settle for reunions instead of the real thing. sure the bands can still play but it can't beat seeing someone at their peak in the apropriate time frame. there are a few benefits to age, very few. ;D

We've been following this on the Yardbirds forum. They better do it quick, Ian's pushing 70!

Better get your tickets quick before you wind up having to pay scalpers. IIRC, the article I saw said tickets were going on sale Jan. 22 through Ticketmaster UK.

The tickets did go on sale on Jan 22.  There are still seats in the stalls (front seating area) available for about $150.  The dollar is high against the pound right now, so I'll probably get them in the next few days.
