As long as we're up to the 80s, do I dare mention the Cosmic Psychos?

I saw them at one show where he asked for more vocals in the monitor, when the sound guy turned it up too much, Ross yells "not that high, you've lowered me sperm count!"

To back up my recent claims of the stupidly high level of road kill here I give you the Cosmic Psychos "Dead Roo". Missed a baby fox by........that much.. last night coming home from practice.

You guys should see the amount of dead Koalas on the South Eastern Freeway (through the Adelaide Hills) during the last 2 weeks. Rutting season has obviously begun. I chased one off the Gorge road last week as well, big sucker running around on his back legs. I've only ever seen them do that when they are stressed out. He came up to my belt.

Midnight Oil is one of my all time favorite bands. Scream in Blue Live is  on the edge !
Maker of the Badbird Bridge, "intonation without modification" for your vintage Gibson Thunderbird

Midnight Oil is one of my all time favorite bands.

In that case, you need to get hold of the first 2 albums - Midnight Oil, and Head Injuries.  And, both albums fall into the 70's so are on topic in this thread :-)

I remember seeing the Oils at the Royal Antler pub in Narrabeen before Peter Garrett shaved his head.

I agree with Mark, I like the Head Injuries album meself.  Back on the Borderline in particular

Have a listen to the Bird Noises EP.

This came out at the same time as Sultans of Swing was released.

Yeah, the Oils were good.
I had a particular fondness for the 10...1 album, since they mentioned us bloody Yanks and Pine Gap.
Peter Garrett and his gang of protesters used to frequent the Gap every now and again..just to show how much they cared.

Good, tight band.

Spy V. Spy, however, are on my all-time top 10 list of favorites bands.
Craig Bloxom is a really good bassist who can belt it out with the best of 'em.
For my money, one of the best bassist/singers anywhere.

Midnight Oil... Awesome outfit... I got the Scream album as a big-box promo, with extra tracks ("written in the heart" and "used and abused") and a 1 song video...

Gotta agree with Mark... Scott... you just have to get the first two...

This is more subtle - outro track to the first LP - a beautifully understated guitar solo... cool video too...

Big regret...? never saw them live... just kept missing them...

If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

The Easybeats were a cool 60's band, although most (if not all) of the members were transplants from Europe (aren't we all?!?).
George Young and George Vanda later formed one of my favorites, Flash & the Pan.

Certainly had a bit of influence on some other Aussie outfit, too, IIRC...  ;D
