Rehabbed Coronado bass

I thought you Fender fans might like this.  I have a few adjustments to make, need some knobs, and then she's good to go.  It has a Gretsch bridge and knobs on the way.

She sounds great, just like the previous Coronado I had a few years back, but better I think.  This one has a nice clear hollow tone to it, not muddy like an EB-2.  It's gonna be fun to play.

I think the Gretsch bridge is much better sounding than the original
The original is very heavy and the rubber saddles was a mistake on the designer's part

Yeah very nice. I'm gassing for one too. I got a '66 6 string coronado guitar, which is cool. How does the bass function in a gig situation? I've heard less than favourable comments (but would really like to try for myself)

I haven't gigged with this yet, but my old one was muddier than this one.  this bass is also a Coronado guitar body. the bodies were identical so I just tossed a Coronado bass neck on it.  You could make your 6 string into a bass without  any routing or damage.

It should work fine in a gig situation. I've heard the Greenhornes* live several times, Jack Lawrence played his Coronado I each time and it was very present. For an example look at the two videos here.

Also saw him play it on Letterman when he was backing Loretta Lynn on her Van Lear Rose tour.

I could have bought a Coronado bass body off eBay, but I  like the lack of the 2 thumbrests on the guitar bodies.  I'd never use them anyway.

Ah, Skyline Chili.  The other favorite must be White Castle burgers!     I did my freshman year in college at UC but didn't care for it.   Ended up at Kent State then Ohio University. Those were great times!
