While restoring the 60s NR, I got the bright idea to start an all-maple clone (don't ask me why, I'm still wondering what I was thinking!!!).  Anyway, I'll be finishing that one up this weekend.  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

I tell ya that bass is just stunning!

Why can't Gibson just re-issue one?

It is kind of fun making/restoring one .

I find it far more rewarding then buying something complete.

I agree!  The GOW idea was OK, but just changing wood or colors on existing models wasn't exactly rocket science nor was it a revolutionary idea (ala F*nd*r!).  It is rewarding to create something, especially a model that is unique and not just a knock-off.  The only problem is wanting to do another..then another....then another........it's just another form of GAS!  :P

Speaking of "another," after I finish my 98 LP and 2003 TB restorations, I'll probably do a JE Fender Bird?  I just can't help myself!  I am so hooked on TBs!

Geez, with all of the other flotsam ans jetsom they floated down the river lately, need I mention the Reverse V, you think Gibson could toss the public a bone.  If they looked at the vintage market they would see that it would make sense.

And +1 on building and restoring - I have a jones for it myself.

I love the color, and I've never like Butterscotch before :-[, but his one just looks right.  Once again - killer job!

I'm curious as to what the all maple makes it sound like - anyway you post some some sound clips?

It'll be ready soon!!!  It's not going to be ready today as planned.  I have to replace some wood in the pup routs before the adjustment screws will fit properly.  Almost there.............

The front two are vol and the back 2 are tone.  The 3-way is a simple LP-style that switches between either pup or turns them both on at the center position.  Nothing too fancy.  I'm pretty much a both-pups full on kinda guy, but once in awhile it's nice to flip between them.
