I think the location of the stripes look good as displayed on each bass in the pic. The shape of the green bass looks better with an offset stripe and the blue bass looks better with a center stripe. So it depends on the bass.

So would it be too cliche to do a diagonal stripe?  I like offset, but the center on the Ric style one I think looks fantastic.  So depends on the bass?

Being the occasional OCD that I am, I like the center stripe...but it's not that I dislike the offset either.
