Just finished assembly and setup.

1978 Fender A-width P maple neck
MJT lightweight alder body (4lbs. 5oz)
Tonerider "The Duke" overwound pickup
Total of $1,288 in parts
7lbs. 12oz

This is the third bass I'm building this way. I love 70s P's but hate the weight, so I'm pairing a nice 70s Fender neck with the lightest body I can get from Mark Jenny. Very happy with the results.

Tha one looks really cool and it matches the garden chairs well. The cat doesn't seem impressed, though.

He's represented anyway.

Good looking bass, and lovely weight!!

I have a 1963 P and it's one of the lightest basses I own.

So 10 days the color hasn't grown on me. I saw this 4lbs. MJT body and pulled the trigger. This is how the bass looks now.

I'm not sure the paisley would grow with me.

I can always switch back to the surf green.

Alanko

Looks really good, but it needs a tug bar!

Both are equally lovely in my book. :)

Just ordered a clear pickguard, to be closer to the 1968 Paisley Tele bass aesthetics.

JUst say no to paisley.  Go back to the surf green.

I can have both. The surf green body will get a 1978 Fender unlined fretess rosewood neck that I have.

I like 'em both. I'm not a big fan of gold in general, but that looks good, and I like the paisley. Clear PG will be great!
