My 1976 BC Rich Bodine bass came with the stock elephant ear tuners, maybe made by Grover, or maybe Schaller.  These have these little pegs to hold them in while screwing down the post of the tuner.  The only lightweight direct drop-in is the Schaller M4S, which I have in it now.  I hate them.  Since this is such a rare bass, I haven't done any irreversible mods to it.  But since I despise them (and Schaller) so much, I'm thinking of just having the peg holes filled in and redrilled for other tuners that are close.  There's a Gotoh RES-O-LITE that's similar, but it only has clover tuners.  Thoughts on how this would look with them?

You could opt for the Hipshot Ultralite with mini clover. These are very light and not made of plastic.

That is a thought, but the Gotohs' housing seems closer to the stock one, and I do really like the Gotohs Y keys on my Thunderbirds. Too bad there's no lightweight version of the stock elephant ears. I think they look the best.
