A very cool bass. May it bring you a ton of joy.

A "slothead" EB-3L is still on my wishlist... :)

For many years all I had was a light 72 Pbass , I thought it was all I'd ever need.
I was an idiot.
I passed on a number of opportunities to pick up EB3s really cheap. Today I favour short scales and would love an EB3 , and really regret my stupidity. I did get an SG , and that has become a favourite bass , but I'd love the original too. Especially a traditional red one.

Every now and then, I do miss the '62 EB-3 I had, with the chrome pinated bakelite pickup cover, and chrome painted bridge pickup surround. Certainly a very specific sound, and the neck on it was a gem. Plus, they look damned cool.

I like that EB-3; the SG body style has always been one of my favorites. Is yours the EB-3L in 34" scale, or the original 30"? The short scale versions have great balance.

Mine is a 30" scale, balances perfectly.
I sat and played it today, just engaging the bridge pickup and a slight EQ on the amp and it's just right there, great to play along to some Free or Cream.

Got it.  My '64 is one of the lightest basses I own, and the neck is thin and very nice to play.

My slothead EB-0 balances perfectly.

My slothead EB-0L doesn't, but it neck-dives perfectly.

From Fräulein Rommel to Auntie Müd, the mind boggles.

And I always thought your immediate thoughts at the demand Gimme sluthead! were not fit to print, Mark!

I need to get out more, my dirty little mind hadn't even gone there. :-*

I have to admit to being utterly fascinated at first by the amount of bass the Mudbucker can produce - the house wants to rattle apart! Turning it off is hard to do but I only recently tried just the bridge pickup with the tone pretty much rolled off and WoW! It seems to really cop that big, sort of woofy tone of Andy Fraser very nicely, not that I can even remotely get to his skill level.

My Slothead EB-0L is an anti-gun activist.

And people complaining about neck dive all the time just can't get a grip on things.

That one shouldn't neck dive due to the weight of the pickups.....
