I love this. We are living in a very scary time here in the US. I would assume other countries as well. I'm pretty sure the "put religion in government and schools" crowd is in the minority, but they're still making some headway thanks to some seriously sh*t-headed elected officials. End of rant.

I like it too. Closed-minded administrations like those in FL respond to such challenges in amusing ways, many of which demonstrate the idiocy of their positions.
"A computer lets you make more mistakes faster than any other invention with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila."

Freedom of religion also entails freedom from religion (= negative religious freedom), that is all too often misunderstood/ignored.

Definitely a a scary time in the states. Saw this quote the other day on this subject:

"The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe in blood for centuries,"

—James Madison in 1803.
There are many in this world that call me Darrol, feel free to be apart of that group.

The founding fathers were only interested in freedom for those from Northern Europe. I don't think they envisioned a cosmopolitan America.

Very much like the Ancient Greeks or Romans in that way. Democracy used to be an elitist project. Freedom for me and my brethren, but not for you!
