I spend days on eBay and then someone lowballs an original 1979 Precision and scores for $700

Oh well I did score a 1970 EB-0L for $480 so I can't complain, but I still feel like I want to.

You made the mistake of falling asleep.

Not a fan of the late-CBS basses but that's a deal.
