In Germany today, we don't use the  original "ch" tone anymore when pronouncing Rickenbacker - we pronounce it as Ricken-bucker.

Just like you would say Seinfeld and not Scheinfeld.

Sigh, learning Tshörmenn lesson 1, lieber Scott:

'Schaller' is not ponounced "shay-ler" like in oil shale, but "shuller" like a lull in work.

Now repeat after me!

Have fun with the bass. Substance looks good, anything else can be done in the aftermath.

PS: No saws!!!  8)
She reminds me a bit of my wife  ;D her maiden name is Mueller,  the family emigrated in1936 her dad and grandparents were fluent. There is German smatterd through our household language though I have to admit some it has more to do with Hogan's Heros than actual German language.

I've heard people mangle 'Epiphone' as 'Epiphony' (phonetically close to a cod-French Epiphoné?!) or even 'Epiphany', more or less.

The biggest crime is "Gibson Epiphone" of course...

Would you like to trade it for a Gibson Epiphone Les Paul?

In Israel many have pronounced Sadowsky as Sa-dov-ski, there are many here of Jewish Polish origins with this name who keep the Polish pronunciation.

How else is it pronounced? I'd pronounce it that way too.  Saidoff-ski?

Sadow as in "shadow". I've heard that in YouTube videos.

Pretty much a phonetic pronunciation.

So I've been doing some measuring and the headstock is a full 1/4" thinner than my other NRs.  :o I'm considering different materials for a cap on the headstock.  Mahogany, maple and I have some aircraft grade plywood lead the pack.  I'll probably go with maple,  gotta think on this for a while.

Any scope for graphite, carbon fibre or something like that?

1/16" Maple on the face and 3/16" mahogany on the back?

I have no idea how I ame upwith 1/4" difference,  in my defense it was late at night. It's a strong 1/8" thinner than my other birds. I am going to do a 1/8" maple cap. Measure twice cut once as they say. :o

Let me, in all caution, develop a scenario to be warned of, Scott, keep your tools locked at night!

I was thinking maybe Alembic-style veneers.

I'm considering that, I have some aircraft grade plywood that might work well.
