Nice work, Rob - seriously. You are a true Renaissance man.

Turned out great, Holländer!

Super work, Rob! I remember when you bought this bass but had no idea how many changes had been made to the original. You did a great job.

This turned out fantastic, great work! Do you plan to put it up for sale?

Eventually, yes I think I will.

My earlier post wasn't very much on target...sorry for that.

I didn't vote in the poll because I know little about Gibsons and my opinion on this one would be without value.

It looks beautiful now!  Congrats on doing lovely work.

If you want to determine a value, I'd say that either a Gruhn valuation (which would be the best choice) or setting up an auction with a very hefty reserve would work.  Perhaps you should do both, in that order.

Rob, what does this thing weigh?  Sorry if you've mentioned it already.

It's not that surprising:
The body is much thinner and much smaller than the later production model. Plus the routing underneath the pickguard is a true "swimming pool".

That bass, Rob my friend, can not be considered as being nothing but a true beauty! Like a Gina Lollobrigida in company of a dozen..... Diana Palmers! (Fiance of The Phantom). Do you remember Diana? (Paul Anka did!)    Happy evening!

Basvarken

Never heard of her. Looking at that video I think she must be older than my mother...
I do know Gina Lollobrigida (who died at an age 10 years older than my mother is now)
