Fender's Ensenada factory hit by fire

I just bought a Mexi P Bass (Player series) and it is AWESOME. Sprinklers going off in a wood shop, yikes. Obviously better than them NOT going off, but still...

One of my first thoughts too.

So much for carefully dried wood - as much as they do that today.  Worse for necks.

Baked maple necks are in.  ;)

Seriously, here's a photo,  Probably did significant damage, but fortunately it was confined and put out.

And of course roasted maple necks.

I hope it isn't that bad...

Fender really wants to sell the Acoustasonic. The official press release about the fire is all about it. Yes we had the fire and that's bad cos we need the factory cos the world needs the Acoustasonic. We don't know what the damage is, but Acoustasonic. Did we say Acoustasonic? Acoustasonic.

It does seem that way.  :)

Maybe nobody is buying them! they seem like a bad mix of acoustic and electric designs and too expensive for many guitarists just to buy on a whim to mess around with.

Piezo -- who needs it! The Acoustasonic demos I've heard don't sound anything like a true acoustic.

I'd choose a Tele Thinline over an Acoustasonic any day.
