Something I happened to run across while on YouTube recently.  Like she says in the video, Carol Kaye sometimes used this kind of amp for bass as well as guitar.

She actually did a lot of the work getting my Hiwatt DR103 back up and running, and it's impeccable! Very good tech from my experience.

She does seem to be a natural.  Because I think she has only been doing this for five years or so.  It appears to be a labor of love.

I used to own a Silvertone that's similar to this one.  I always wanted to know how it all worked.  I went to electronics tech school.  After several years and working on many guitar amps, I came across a Silvertone like this one that needed repairs.  One look inside and I thought 'oh crap, what a mess'.  I was just a little surprised at how disorganized and messy it was compared to typical point to point amps from Fender and Harmony.  Still easy to fix except for their reverb system.
