So on this day, March 24, exactly 7 years ago I got my 1960 blonde Höfner 500/3, 3 years ago I got my blonde 1964 Höfner Senator bass, and 6 years ago I received my 1962 Höfner 4560v2.

We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

Not really. I'm always on the lookout for the guitars of my childhood dreams that I haven't yet owned. It was a long wish list but I'm getting close to completing it. Still looking for an irresistible deal on a '74 Ric 4001 Azureglo, early 70s black/rosewood J, pre-CBS Dakota Red P bass, ~'68 Yamaha SB-7 "Samurai bass", ~'69 Competition Blue Mustang bass, maybe a couple more.

I snagged a reissue Samurai last year , long scale unlike the original run .
It's best described as a Jazz on steroids .
I'd been looking around for years .

Still on the lookout for a shortscale one pickup samurai🙂
Other than that, I think that the only thing I 'need' is a shortscale hollow. I hope someone one day wants to trade in a nice EB2 for my giant Gretsch 6070🙂

Is March 24 your birthday? If not, it should be...those are beautiful!

We have similar tastes it seems. I've owned a 1968 Gretsch 6070 for many years. Great sounding bass but so hard to play. Also had an EB2C in Sparkling Burgundy, Dave remembers that one. Now my only Gibson is a cherry 1970 EB-0L.

Let me know know if you need more

I'm thinning out the herd. I decided a while back that I should try to go from 16 to 10 basses. My '74 P was the first to go, actually I' m Fender free now! Love your Höfners, they grow on me.. A short Höfner hollowbody might be easier to get hold on than an EB2.

Still in my Gibson photo files.

That must be 20+ years ago. It was one good looking EB2. Wish I still had it, now that I know how to deal with mudbuckers.

It's been in my Gibson photo files since 2003.

The pic itself was taken 2-3 years before that.
