I don't understand why they didn't build the 4003 pickup into an open-style shell or even a toaster shell and fabricate a larger version of that to be used in the 5 string bass.

There’s a bass in the Ric showroom that had been loaned to that guy in Led Zeppelin that has a similar pick guard . It’s been a change to see some different things come out , some interesting one offs the rough the Ric Boutique , and now some small runs . I blame this on Ben .
If they ever do a short scale 325 shaped bass I’ll be in danger of hocking a kidney .

How about a 360-shaped short-scale with checker binding? Done and dusted. Just made 90 of them in celebration of the company's 90th anniversary.

It’s the 325 or 350 shape that will have me scrambling . Although I do think the 4005cx is gorgeous .
