Mystery fretted/fretless 1973 double-neck
« on: October 20, 2020, 05:14:38 AM »
I think we've discussed that bass here in the past - it was seen in the orchestra in the 1973 Eurovision Song Contest in Luxemburg. The vid was blurry and I assumed it was a Gibson. Now I found a better quality pic, and it looks like a Carvin (I'm attaching a 1977 Carvin 4/12). Anyone seen this model before?

The guy who bought the same bass twice — first in 1977 and again in 2023

I don't know... The upper "horn" doesn't look right, and the area between where the necks meet the body has some different contours than the Carvin.

I think it's quite easy to ask the Kiesel guys?
