Bert Kämpfert!!!

Yep, Ladi Geisler and what he called Knack-Bass.

Kämpfert and him sometimes even tripled the signal: double bass, electric bass and guitar an octave higher. Best of all worlds.

Imagine a guitarist who has to do everything you do note for note - every bassist should own one!  :)

Isn't that the same girl from the last vid?

Probably their baby sis.

Nice song, they're getting better and more refined all the time.

Having heard their four CDs more intensively now and over proper stereos, I can attest to the fact that Francesca's E string has a much lower signal than her other strings. Alas!, the curse of a double bass.

It's a bit like listening to old Status Quo albums, you could always hear when Alan Lancaster hit the E string on his Mustang, the signal was much weaker than on the A string. He came to use it as a style element in his playing.

He did a nice job of coming up with a way to hit that high note on "Devil woman, let go of me."  I couldn't even get close to that!!
