Another track from their CD. Something different.

Real bassists play arco.

I love the ballad!

Where can you get a CD of the talented siblings?

Grazie, I just ordered their four CDs und I'm certain this will catch her attention ... Waiting for her call as I write, she has my number now.

PS: My Italian is a bit rusty, but I read her message below as "Can we have dinner together sometime soon?" ... And, apparently, she wants to bring her girlfriend Sara along.  :)

A western swing original. Francesca really gets going.

I need to put in the time on the ungentle art . I've been playing upright for about twenty years now , but I have never really worked on that slap style .

My right hand would be shredded playing that .
There was a book on Rockabilly slap playing called "The Ungentle Art"
The author alleged that some bassist's right hands had withered away to a nasty little hook after years of that abuse .

I am now not only the happy owner of four CDs by the Lovesick Duo, but also of a photograph autograph card with Francesca's original signature (less importante, her brother apparently signed too).

Now eat your heart out, Westheimer!  ;D

Why would you think I'm jealous? You're the one who's fascinated with her. :) And why do you think he's her brother?

Her personal Facebook page came up in my FB suggestions since I follow the Lovesick Duo. She has a website, if you're interested. Mostly in Italian, but the About section has an English translation. She has quite a few accomplishments. https://francescaalinovi.wordpress.com

He's her brother until proven otherwise in this forum of forensic evidence standards.

And there's no bambini. Italians always have bambini, it's like archigenesis with them, they see each other - wham! - bambini, lots of them.

Do they also go by the Lovesick Trio and Lovesick Quartet too...?
The random mind of a Silver Surfer...
If research was easy, it wouldn't need doing...
Staring at that event horizon is a dirty job, but someone has to do it; something's going to come back out of it one day...

That slap tone is the reason why producers in the late 50s started having a Dano "tic-tac bass" double the upright, which led to Carol Kaye's signature pick-and-mute sound.
