Now, this was fun.. I never used the stereo out much when I boght my '75 4001 some 18 years ago.  But as I grow more and more fond of Geddy Lee, at least now and then I have pondered with the thought of splitting the pickups on at least one EB3.

The other day I got this HD-130 in for repair, and when it was done I just had to test it alongside mine! Customer have no cab, but fortunately I have two :)

Man, if two HD-130's isn't loud enough... It was amusing to feed the bridge pickup to one unit set to some trebly overdrive tones (through the 212 cab) and the neck to amp set clean through the 115EV cab. Great fun! Ludicrous Loudness!

Great looking bass - the neck pickup is where it should be ;-) Did you bypass the cap? Also love that 6070.

30 years ago I had two bass rigs and I tried splitting my first Ric ('74 JG). It was nice but it was obvious I'm not going to schlep two amps.

Yes, I didn't know much about Rick's at the time other than I knew I wanted one. I got internet connection and a PC in 2003, so at the time I just thought the bridge pup was weak or broken. I wound a big fat pickup, and when I was about to install it i looked at the cap and thought 'that does not look right'... So I removed it and obviously it sounded good with the stock pickup.

I assumed somebody modified it, but learned later that the whole circuit was stock. It's a great bass, dont't play it much as I'm in short scale land - but I certainly play it more than my other longs (P bass, The Grabber and the 6070).

Rics are 33", an inch shorter than Fenders. The 6070 is 34" but feels longer because the bridge is further up the body.

Yeah, the Rick is a toy compared to the 6070!
