Patriotic sentiment rises in me - this is f***ing brilliant! Best cover of the song I've so far heard. Those guys (and the one girl) really know what they are doing. Lovingly executed + excellent sax solo too.

I would much rather hear this than the original!
This song used to be inescapable back in the late 80s and I grew to dread hearing that guitar intro. It sounds great on trumpet though!  ;D

The proud German in me says; Ausgezeichnet!

I don't blame GnR for the original being overplayed, it's beats hearing anything from Dark Side of the Moon one more time  :puke:

I especially like the semi-yodel on the chorus. Veddy nice touch, wot?

Posting that video was an act of kindness for someone recuperating from surgery.  Very commendable.
It's not those who write the laws that have the greatest impact on society.  It's those who write the songs.

One should not knock songs that do (mostly) with only three chords. I like the jammy-cobbled-together aspect of the song - the opening riff that Slash used to check his tuning, the country'esque three chord verses Axl came up with, the chorus which sounds a bit like they made it up on the spot in the rehearsal room (bit of Dokken in there) without too much thought about which key the original song was and, finally, that ingeniously awkward key change for Slash's solo, most likely because he had issues soloing in other keys than E minor (and certainly not D major!). Put together you have a charming mix and a recipe for a hit.

PS: And I know how Duff always belittles his own bass playing (for no valid reason IMHO), but you can do worse than having written a melodic intro bass line that becomes so much part of the song that even a Bavarian beer tent band uses that line for its horn arrangement. Geddy Lee - with all due respect - has never had one of his bass lines covered by a Bavarian beer tent band, so there!

I think the joke would have been much stronger if they had used a real tuba for the bass.
And real drums instead of programmed drums.

More like genuine Holzhackerbubenmusik.

It could use a little more low end. If only we knew a bassist in Germany who might be able to help...
