Cool. I wish Epiphone would get on board with that for the Thunderbird Vintage Pro and Embassy.

Where did you see that?

As editor-in-chief of a prominent Dutch bass magazine, Chris has minions all over the world who feed him the latest information.

And groupies. Some of them may have worn cherries.

Damn, I need some minions! Not worn cherries, though.

I'm not really interested in short scales, but the favor that Gibson is making so many options for lefties makes me really happy. I wonder if Epiphone will get on board with that. They seem like the less traditional ones, too.

Chris P.

I have to correct myself. Not a 'guy from Europe' but a 'guy from Gibson Europe'. I typed toon fast.

As only bass mag for the Dutch speaking countries I'm also the most prominent

And I need more groupies.

This is a double cut short scale LP I'd like to see

I can give you a positive vote for that!  Looks great.

The Epiphone Genesis bass (or Pearl Export Bass) was pretty close.

Just looked it up.  Looks like something Gene Simmons would use.  Hmmm, GENEsis.  Coincidence?

Basvarken

I think coincidence. The Epiphone Genesis guitar came first. No connection there.

Gene Simmons would never exploit a name for financial gain, would he?

Of course not! He's got too much integrity for that. What a silly idea.

Chris P.

And I guess Mike Rutherford of Genesis would've looked cooler with a Genesis than with a headless and bodyless Steinberger.

I played one of these at Sam Ash yesterday. It's tiny. Feels smaller than my '68 EB-0 - maybe on a par with my Dan Armstrong. Guitar players who double on bass will probably love it. Seemed well put together. I didn't have time to plug in - maybe I'll head back over tomorrow and give it a proper wringing out.
