Uploaded yesterday by Bassic Gear Review, whoever that is. Popped up in my suggested videos this morning. Details of the recording setup are shown if you watch it on YT.

I like the pick tone.

That sounds soooooo like a TB Plus pup - and you know I'm a fan. After all these years decades, it is still a mighty fine pup, ignore the naysayers!
We've taken too much for granted ... and all the time it had grown ...
From techno seeds we first planted ... evolved a mind of its own ...

I believe the pup positioning is the magic. And that classic middle position is one that historically Gibson has often enough avoided/overlooked. The (guitar humbucker size) TB Plus in middle position sounded just right on the Grabber II reissue of some years ago too.

I can never tell squat from demo vids - it has rounds on it and I have no idea what the amp is.  I mean it sounds pretty alright as is, but ya know?

Whatever that pickup is, it either has a series/parallel mode or a coil tap mode, so it's not a straight TB-Plus. Maybe just a slightly modified version. Or it could be an EMG35 size pickup.

Agreed, you can't tell, but being able to hear it at all is better than nothing.

From the video description:

A brief look at the 2019 Gibson Les Paul Junior DC Bass at NAMM 2019. The bass was recorded with the TC Electronic Wiretap and re-amped through a Darkglass Microtubes 900 and DG410C Cabinet. The amp controls are set flat and the Pre-EQ Direct signal is blended with the Shure Beta 52.

OK, so I missed that, but why the stupid complex signal chain?  Now nobody can possibly know where the tone come from.  A bass demo vid should never be re-amped audio; that's just being a dick.  I'd prefer the straight DI signal; at least you know what you're dealing with.

Yup, needs flats that are a couple years old...... 8)

Despite all that, it's still better than 90% of bass demo videos on YT.

Mudbucker, TI flats, a Marshall and a 4x12.. Off you go!

I think it sounds just fine with rounds :)
I would have preferred a DI with no processing for demo purposes, but this is enough to tell me that I could probably work with one of these.
I'm curious how it plays.

Nobody is listing these for sale yet as far as I can tell. Anybody know when they will start shipping?

You mean... like the front pickup on the T-bird? or LPB? Or the Casady signature? :D

The LPB-1 mid pickup has been working its magic for me for the past decade or so...

I refuse to accept that pathetically low bar of a standard. I demand more (, more, more, more more more) and I will near- anonamously insult all such videos until they pull up their damn socks and do things in useful ways vs self-satisfying and agrandising ways ( oooh check out my complex signal chain  full of the latest recording fad buzz words and boutique amp nobody is familiar with). KISS or GTFO.

But yeah, it was decent enough for me to know I could likey work with that bass if I put some flats on it, I think.... maybe not- how coloured is that DI/ preamp and the amp ( and I dont trust some random guy to know what flat eq setting is - on some amps it is not the middle of knob travel). In any case I'd be able to try before buy since we have very good Gibson distro up here in our largest music store chain, and the demo is enough to tell me its worth the trip to do that.

I keep checking the major online sites, nobody has them available for preorder yet. I'm guessing late April.

One thing I did notice while looking is that Sweetwater and MF both have big price reductions on the 2018 TBirds. Henry must have overproduced them.
