You know you need it! I've played two in the past, both sounded great but must have been over 10 lbs.

I'm going to a small Thanksgiving gathering in a few minutes. Yesterday was sad for me, had planned to share Thanksgiving with a friend but she passed unexpectedly in late September.

That's actually a pretty good price considering it includes shipping.

Very good, especially coming from Japan where asking prices are usually higher. Don't see many of these at any price.

Except for the jackplate that seems to have been subject to corrosion more than the other metal parts. Probably inferior chrome or perhaps a redux reaction to different metals?

I know that a lot of basses share an element of design heritage with guitars (Firebird/Thunderbird etc.), but I've never felt the Les Paul Bass shape lends itself that well to a bass.

Isn't it good that we don't all like the same things?  I love the LP bass, especially if they keep the body guitar sized - I am not a fan of the "oversized" LP bass.  I just really like that small body with the long neck coming out of it, perhaps it's the "wrongness" of it that makes it right for me

I always thought the LP shape looked especially good for bass, too.

Me too. Ever since I saw John Waite with the Babys playing a Zemaitis on the Midnight Special I've wanted a Les Paul bass. My beloved cherry red LPB-1 is currently in semi-retirement due to what seems to be a flipped truss rod resulting in a nice crack behind the nut.
