Hey he's not bad. I've heard the name but always mixed him up with Lee Konitz. Totally different guys.

Not bad? Not bad? He's one of the best ever, IMHO.

I've posted this before. He's 78 and doesn't play it as fast now.

Great sense of humor, too.

Absolutely talented musician yet the charts have not been kind. He must not have taken the devil's deal like others mentioned here. All the more comendable.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

Never saw this (obviously mimed) video before. Uploaded a year ago.

Whaddayyamean they're not A-rabs?!

The Pharaohs weren't Arabs. And despite Nasser changing the name from the Kingdom of Egypt to the Arab Republic of Egypt, today's Egyptians have very little Arab blood.

Supposedly Sam patterned the Pharaohs after seeing Yul Brynner in the Ten Commandments. Yul wasn't an Arab either.  ;)

Fun fact: Steve Martin isn't either.

"Yul wasn't an Arab either.  ;)"

Of course he wasn't, silly! He was Siamese, you could easily tell by his Chinese eyes.

(True fact, Yul was self-conscious about his very thin hair and when asked if he would shave himself bald for the musical at first didn't want to do it, thinking he would look terrible. Pleased with the result (as everyone around him was), it became his trademark.)

And then there is Boris: "Whaddayya mean, I don't look A-rab to you?"

Heh heh heh I know it's about as trashy as it gets , but I have a spot for the Troggs

Don Rich died in a motorcycle accident 50 years ago today, at age 33. Buck was never the same afterwards.

Naw, The Troggs were charmingly minimalist! And they gave the world (and Wet Wet Wet) this here, Reg Presley said he could finally buy a house from the Wet Wet Wet royalty payments:

My high school band got to record in the same studio where the troggs recorded Wild thing. Somewhere in White plains NY I think.
Recording studios aren't doing so hot these days. I hear the record plant in LA is shutting down. It's a shame and the end of an era.
Don Rich was one of the best to ever lay hands on a Telecaster.

The Troggs were fearless. Who would have dared to cover The Beach Boys' Stairway To Heaven?

I actually knew this version before I first heard The Beach Boys' original. It was ... well, diffrerent!

I prefer this to Lay Down Sally even though they are slightly similar! Nice bass playing too and you know where it has to go with that EB ...

Telecaster, you said ? My personal favourite would be Jerry Donahue, mostly in his Fotheringay/Fairport Convention days, but this is not half bad either IMO...

Too bad he was incapacitated by a massive stroke a few years ago and can't play anymore...a stellar player in my book...

You guys are not talking about serious rhythm guitar, are you?  ;D

No one played rhythm on a Tele like Rick Parfitt. Strung in a most manly fashion of course: .14 .17 .26w .36w 46w 56w !!!
