It owes something to the Ric 330. I like the look a little better than the arched top of the solidbody version.

Works for me.  I can't imagine paying $4k for a new Gibson though.

I predict they will sell several dozen of them.

Rickenbacker can build a good guitar or (neck through) bass with a proper glossy finish in California that sells for less than $2000. Why can't Gibson do that in Tennessee?

edit: I looked at Sweetwater and they have a 2018 Thunderbird that has an MSRP of $3669 for sale at $2199. Using a little math here a $3999 MSRP translates to a $2399 street price. But still would I buy a Thunderbird for $2199 or a 4003s at $1499 or a Fender American Professional Jazz for $1599? Damn, I just saw an Antique Olive Precision for $1499 and I don't have a P with rosewood.

Never heard of an Antique Olive Fender so I looked up a P  bass in that color. That looks terrific!!!
Why did Salvador Dali cross the road?

Ignore the supposed MSRP, $2199 is the actual price of the 2018 Thunderbird. It was $1999 but Gibson just increased prices on guitars and basses

Rickenbacker's list prices are $1829 for the neck through 620, and $2199 and $1899 for the 4003 and 4003S, but most dealers discount off that, anywhere from 15 to 30% off list. Of course Gibson could compete, they just choose not to.

I've seen the Antique Olive in person on a Strat, I really like it.

It looks great compared to the newly designed Flying V in my opinion, or is it the Star Trek logo?

Those look like a 14 year old's rage against acne.

It looks like something Strong Bad would draw.

Where no Gibson has gone before...

Can definitely see Federation influence...

I can see why they never went there before too.
