I haven't seen one of these for sale for a long time.

Lots of issues, but seems to be in fair shape.  What do you guys think of the condition & price?

Basvarken

Nice!
These are very rare. Condition seems nice. Even with the headstock break repair and all.
Not a bad price if you ask me.

I think it's a little high...but I paid $40 for mine. :)

Seriously, the unoriginal pup/plastic cover is a big minus as is the neck break.  A plus is the original though useless banjos and nice case, too.

I dunno, $1500?

I'm with Carlo here. Too many mods for $2K. And despite the s/n, I highly doubt it was completed and shipped in 2008.

Pretty sure this belongs or belonged to a member on Talkbass. I've seen it before, recognize the silver Dimarzio and switch.

Hmmm, I recognize this bass too. Not from TB though, I think it was listed for sale a bunch of times last year on ebay or reverb.

Not often you see a Model One with a chrome cover. From memory Model Ones were produced with different covers for SD Curlee basses? There might be a bit of money tied into that pickup if nothing else?

66Atlas

Model ones had a metal cover that was painted black.  Looks to me like this one has just had it's black paint stripped/sanded off to give it a brushed silver look.

That Model One on it is a sin, nuff said.

I love these basses. The price is a little high but at least there are no major modifications.

It would be a cool restoration project.

If I had the extra coin, I would of loved to own it.

The earliest Model Ones had silver metal covers.

I fitted a black Model 1 to my PC, probably late 70's or early 80's (when new here but can't date it) but it was badly microphonic... junked it...
