Evidently Steve Miller has no love for RRHOF (+Why Uwe is now a broken man!)

Like I said, the Kinks never meant much at home. They were steady in Germany, the kind of a band that could fill 1,500 seater halls for all of the 70ies and the early 80ies. Lola was huge in Germany.

Since I seem to have inadvertantly opened the door for The Kinks (yes, that's where my tagline comes from...the song that made me a fan at a young age).

A late favorite!

Also noteworthy for Ray playing the sister guitar to a Gibson Victory Bass!

That's from Think Visual, the last Kinks album I bought. The only single from that album that got much airplay here was Working At The Factory.

Ray's solo work doesn't move me.

Lola vs. Powerman is probably my favorite Kinks album but I like just about all their early stuff.

Had a good time on this Sunny Afternoon watching that local Kinks tribute band (Kinda Kinky). Old friends, good music, hot dogs, and beer.

Sounds like a near perfect way to spend it... ;)

It was. Followed last night by the Quinceañera of my neighbor's daughter. The teenagers had fun, the adults had more fun, plus plenty of food and drink.

I believe they were already there! Those long front stays do something to you.

Did they play Long Tall Shorty?

No, thankfully. They did play Till The End Of The Day which always makes me happy.

Long Tall Shorty was dumb, but it spoke to me. Could have been a Dr Feelgood number.
