The AC/DC albums produced by Vanda and Young are my favorites!

On a semi related sidenote, Easybeats contemporaries Valentines:

LOL, yep not a band that Back up singer Bon Scott was happy to recall ;) Shortly after he joined local legendary Adelaide band Fraternity.

Now that we seem to have completely hijacked Chris's thread it might interest a few of you to know that Angry Anderson (Rose Tattoo singer) was in a band with Phil Rudd (drummer for ACDC) called Buster Brown before Acca Dacca and Tatts.
Tatts first four albums were also produced by Harry Vanda and George Young.

Interestingly Chris the first drummer with the Tatts was Michael Van der sluys. So there would have to be an Easybeats connection there as well.

One of my favorite bands from around here, The Ugly Beats, do a cover of the Easybeats' "I'll Make You Happy." And speaking of Dutch connections, they also cover the Outsiders' "Filthy Rich". Both are on their first CD.

I love threads getting hijacked in this interesting way!

We played "I'll Make You Happy" at the Crocs gig Sat night. We usually do it back to back with Stepping Stone by the Monkees. Both get rocked up a bit and work really well. ;D

If you wanna do some 60's garage stuff that people might not have heard in the vein of Small Faces early Who etc what about some of this stuff?

or Some Black Monks or Atlantics?

The riffing in that song is AC/DC'ish alright!  :o  But there are worse things than to steal from your big brothers.

I laffed & cried myself to sleep after watching this vid last night.

This may be why Bon Scot drank himself to death...trying to erase the memory of this band.

OMG, I only realize this now, that background singer is Bon Scott!

Catchier than most of his tunes with that other band though ...

Today the new OOR came in. That's the most important Dutch music magazine. On page 8 there's a hotlist. I'll translate it roughly:

The La La Lies - Turn Up The Music (And Dance)
Since band Di-rect made a version of Tommy, we are a bit frightened by Dutch bands with a Who-link. But The La La Lies proofs it can be awesome! Yep, they have a La less than the British band. This quartet from North-Holland is one of the best new Dutch bands. Listen to the fenomenal Turn Up The Music (And Dance). You won't hear any better songs this year.

Nice isn't it?

Good for you.

All publicity is good (unless you're Kanye West), a positive mention is great.

Easybeats = great band.

Here's a recording of "I'll Make You Happy" I did with a band a few years ago when I was living in Adelaide ....

AND, if you need a real laugh, here's the promotional video that went with the demo CD ....
