Howdy folks. Anyone still around here from the Old days from the dudepit etc?

Been out of the mix for a while and trying to possibly track down a fee old basses sold around these parts. Used to go by the name Crimsonghost years ago.

Thanks

Crimsonghost rings a bell!  I was around there starting about 2005 maybe? Like Uwe, I ended up on the pit because I was trying to learn more about Gibson basses as well. At the time I owned none, and now I own two (plus a Greco bird) so I guess I got what I was looking for and then some :)
Basses: Gibson lpb-1, Gibson dc jr tribute, Greco thunderbird, Danelectro dc, Ibanez blazer.  Amps: genz benz shuttle 6.0, EA CXL110, EA CXL112, Spark 40.  Guitars: Danelectro 59XT, rebuilt cheap LP copy

I remember the name crimsonghost. I was ilan in the Pit, FDP, even The Bottom Line email digest before that.

You were, I think that was in the short-lived third edition of the Pit.

I was on it briefly.  Then it went out of existence.  I don't remember what name I used.  I do remember Uwe making a comment to me to the effect that I might want to consider switching to guitar if I wasn't going to be able to follow the suggestions he was making about Rippers.  He was right, though.  I was making some clueless statements.  Of course the gist of it was switching to guitar was obviously the grimmest fate that could occur to someone.  At least I think that was Uwe I was talking to.

Me???  :-[  I've never been a Ripper fan - that otherwise fine bass is let down by its lame pups (rectified in the much later reissue Ripper II via Seymour Duncans) -, but the guitar reference?

I think it probably was you.  I'm pretty sure.  It turned into something amusing.  Whether intentional or unintentional, I'm not sure.

Sums up my thoughts about pre-'72 EB-0/EB-3's.
