Howdy folks. Anyone still around here from the Old days from the dudepit etc?

Been out of the mix for a while and trying to possibly track down a fee old basses sold around these parts. Used to go by the name Crimsonghost years ago.

Thanks

I'm here, I used to be Nosbig, a dare I say most brilliant reverse anagram. Or not. Other survivors will no doubt raise their hand as well.

What the hell took you so long?!

I'd guess about half of our active members are former Pit members. But we're tiny compared to what the Pit was at its height.

I was on the Pit but mostly hung around Camp Bovine.

I'm usually morrow , or msb. Still in contact with many of the Bovinistas.

Yup, I landed here as a result of the Pit. And I landed THERE when I was researching Gibson basses around 2004.

Plus waving the "Don't be mean to Adam Clayton!"-flag, of course.

I actually stumbled across the Dudepit in 2003 via my then burgeoning interest for Gibson basses as well. Was that really almost 20 years ago? How many hours of my life did I waste there and here?

I remember getting flamed at the Dudepit early on via daring to innocently question the musical necessity/wisdom of multi-string basses in Kings X' and Cheap Trick's, well really anybody's work/output and pointing out that the amount of Top Twenty hits featuring multi-string basses is miniscule (naming myself ELP's Fanfare For The Common Man as a rare exception). The term "shitstorm" didn't exist yet, but I sure walked into a real face-slammin' feces monsoon, endearing myself to Dug Pinnick and Tom Petersson fans. ;D Yet two decades later, the amount of further 8- or 12-string-bass hit songs still remains, uhum, manageable.  :P  I invite your submissions to the contrary ... :-*

And doesn't everyone agree that Adam Clayton plays kinda simplistic even on just four strings?

Needless to say, with an intensity/tenacity usually only found with burrowing rodents, Mark has over the years corrupted this place beyond recognition. This is not your father's Dudepit, be warned!

Haha, your topographic skills aren't as good as they used to be, are they?
The Netherlands has 12 provinces. Two of them are Holland: North-Holland and South-Holland.
I live in Gelderland. And I was born in Limburg,

But I guess to you those are just part of Ze Reich, no?

Being blessed with a Dutch son-in-law as of next year, you really think I should develop my knowledge of Dutch provinces a bit more?  ???

I always thought that nothing noteworthy exists between North and South Holland.  8) Plus "Nie-der-län-der" is a syllable more than "Hol-län-der", doesn't roll off the tongue as quickly.

Still working hard on how I can include that fietsen beslag incident into my wedding speech. Perhaps: "We unfortunately took your bikes, apologies for that, but we are now leaving a daughter in return?" What is the exact Dutch translation of that?

There is literally nothing between the two.
We call it the arrogant Randstad.
They call anything east of them "platteland"
