Woof.  $6999!

Fine for those with the money, but to me that's new (used) car money!  

Collector bass prices are a matter of wonder and mystery to me.

Last time I saw a 59 EB-2 was in Austin about five years ago, priced at $2200 and the finish was in better shape than this one.

It must be the economic boom times we're having.

The last time I bought one of those I paid $225.  These were never considered collectors basses until the last 10 years or so.  In fact I think the majority of them that traded hands before the mid 90s were being bought to get brown cases for 50s ES-335s.
Model One and Schallers?  Ish.
