I guess the perfect configuration for my taste must be a combination of the two of them, cause I'm not satisfied with the Ampeg combination of 1x15 with 4x10. Gave that rig to my son, don't want it myself. I'm a spoiled old boy!
There is a Randall 2X12/1X15 cab that keeps turning up on the local Craigslist. I believe it's what Dimebag Darryl used? It always tempts me when I see it listed but I cannot justify it in any way.

I like the looks of the Dingwall, including the headstock. Never tried a fanned-fret bass but it would be interesting to try one for a minute. Wouldn't have any use for one really, not with my level of "talent".

I have the same LP Jr style as Carlo but the pickup was upgraded to an EMG when I bought it. Dual truss rod and individual string adjustment on the saddles. I do wish it had different pickups and placement but I'm only using it around the house to experiment with so it doesn't really matter much. The long scale doesn't bother me and I'm not tall (5'10"). Joe (Chromium) has a lot of experience with 8'ers from Ibanez, Ric, BC Rich and Hamer so he can provide some insight on various scale lengths.
