Looks like it was designed by someone who doesn't actually play guitar or bass.

Tennessee brand...wonder what part of China it came from?

"This Instrument is truly a MASTERPIECE"  ::) Yeah right, pal. Get off the stage.

I hear you. Too many variations on the same themes. Not that I really expect them to come up with something new and daring. When they do have something different (e.g. the Roscoe Beck), most of their dealers usually won't order it.

Series boosts the output, and the increased volume may make it seem like there's more bass, but I doubt there really is. Usually it increases midrange a bit.

Better you than I. Even if I could afford to be a completist, I'm just not moved by a few of them. But you have to admire a company that can put out basses as diverse as a Victory and an SB-300, fail at most of them, and yet continue to produce basses -- even if they won't take our advice.

Black is always good. But is this worth what you're thinking of putting into it? I don't recall these selling for very much even in original condition.

Go for it, Jules. He would probably be a great source of information.

Nice interview, but has anyone here read it yet? No reviews on Amazon yet. I'm wondering if he includes basses.

Hi Tom, welcome aboard. I know this one is real, it was used in "Spinout" and is on display at Graceland. I don't think it was ever a production model like the EBSF-1250 -- Uwe and Jules would probably know.

Here.

No article, just pics. Mostly guitars but I do spy two Birds in the Gibson booth and one seems to have a mirrored pickguard and a toggle switch. These probably aren't Epis, there's a separate Epi booth shot where you can see the Woody and EB-0.
