I've never played any model of Greco bird but this one sure is a beauty.

I had another reply to this thread. Was it removed for some violation or I did I accidentally delete it?  ???

I sure didn't delete anything, and I don't see anything else in my RSS feed.

I think you're right about Loud's strategy.

IIRC the Hofner thing was long scale and solid body, and there were only a handful made.

I'm dyslexic so I thought it would be about x-rays of Fred Schneider.

Heritage series

Note the MSRPs.

I still wouldn't buy anything from LOUD Technologies.

Is this thread going to be used for all future marriages?  ;)

You may be on to something. For the right price, one could probably buy the right to use the Gibson name for basses. Then all we'd have to do is manufacture them. Maybe find some empty factory in Kalamazoo....

No thanks. Can't you see, this is a land of confusion?

I just put on some old country music to cleanse Phil Collins from my memory.  :P

They do have the buyers-only booth upstairs. But this does sound like downsizing to me. At both the summer shows I attended in Austin, they had a big public booth with lots of product (except basses  ) and listening stations.

The MSRP is $2799, street price will probably be about $2K. For that, IMO you could buy a better bass from a small builder and have some change to spare.

The Bass Zone / Re: Fretless basses
« on: January 16, 2010, 09:10:19 AM »
Bill Wyman was the first (AFAIK) to use fretless in r & r, in his case it was because the frets rattled so he pulled them. But he used it to good effect. Sure, you can get his sound on Paint It Black, Mother's Little Helper etc. with a fretted bass, but he might not have come up with those slides and runs otherwise.

To my simple mind, if it sounds good, it is good, whatever it was played on.

Pixar was acquired outright by Disney, no question about it. This was after they had already partnered on some projects.

I have never seen a Pixar movie.

I haven't heard anything Phil Collins did for Disney. I will admit to having heard Phil Collins sing, but I try not to dwell on that.
