Only Ginger could have come up with a line like "the worst bassist on earth fired the best drummer on earth." 

Here is another good one.

I like this version by Dave Edmunds.  Kind of falls apart at the end, but that's because it was for a New Year Eve's celebration which has no relevance now.

I remember sometime in the nineties guitarist magazine did a thing where they got their interviewees to list the top 5 guitarists that they rated, and Prince came top by a big margin

That was quite a long time ago when my friend told me that.  At the time, I wasn't too used to hearing someone say that.  But since then I've heard several others say the same thing.  I did take his word for it, though.  He was quite an accomplished rhythm guitarist and singer--in local terms at least. 

To grow or not to grow.  Individual choice.  No preference one way or the other.  That song by Clapton, though, "Let It Grow," was supposedly a highlight of a successful album.  To me it's just an illustration that the old joke had merit:  What does Eric Clapton and a cup of coffee have in common?  They both suck without Cream.

Brolin's comment about what he thinks about it was pretty funny.
