That's a pretty funny typo you made there in context (China stinker).  If Epiphone made left-handed basses, I'd absolutely be checking them out.

Cool, Scott. Any noticeable difference in build quality between it and the Epiphone '60s one?

Richard is seriously underrated as a guitarist. And the other band members in that video! Hiram Bullock and David Sanborn!

It's funny that Thompson is so well respected and always appears on the questionable top whatever lists for guitarists, but so far from a household name.  I've seen him a number of times live and it's always so great.  He's pretty hilarious.

Here's a great cover Bob Mould did of Turning of the Tide, if you haven't heard it.

It really just seems to be a CP with gold hardware and 760s.

Interesting, Scott.  I look forward to your review. The Epiphone web site says ProBucker 760.

I don't think I've ever posted anything by Cajun/country singer Jo-El Sonnier. His signature hit was his 1988 cover of Richard Thompson's Tear Stained Letter.

I saw on FB that he's been on tour and that he was playing Saturday afternoon at the Llano County Opry in Texas.

Now this tonight.

Grammy Award winning Cajun and Country Recording Artist Jo-El Sonnier passed away Saturday evening at the age of 77, while on tour in Texas.

“Jo-El Sonnier had just completed an incredible show at the Llano Country Opry in Llano, Texas,” Texas Country Music promoter Tracy Pitcox said.  “He had entertained over an hour and ended with his signature ‘Tear Stained Letter’.  He received a standing ovation and I asked him to do ‘Jambalaya’ as an encore.  He performed a rousing rendition of that classic.  Jo-El mentioned that he needed to rest for just a few minutes before signing autographs.  Unfortunately, he suffered cardiac arrest and was air flighted to Austin where he was pronounced deceased.  It is never easy to lose a legend, but he truly spent his final day doing what he loved-entertaining his fans with his loving wife Bobbye by his side.”

I'm shocked and saddened.

I love Richard Thompson.  That's a really cool performance. Thanks for posting.  I'd never heard of Jo-El.

I bet his Gibson model is selling better than Gene's.  I wonder how Gene feels about that.

Curious if Rex had anything to do with the Epiphone version. Probably sounds nothing like his Gibson model.

This is an odd bird, so to speak.  It's really just a VP.  Neck-through and passive Probucker 760s.  I agree with V about the mismatched hardware. The gold rings on nickel pickup covers is cheesy.

I think you could sell the 1990 TB+ fairly easily.  I loved the sound I got from the 2001 I put in my 2018, but the noise from them was too much.  Not sure if they sound like other TB+ from that year or the defective traits make it sound that way.  But I'm interested in the different eras of the TB+.  A friend said he has 1991s that he'd give me if he can find them, but if not, I might be interested.

Ripper?

I'll also assume no lefties. Uwe, if we don't die from power tool accidents, it's sadness from limitation.

Same thing really, in Greece we call this "The theory of two extremes", meaning that both extreme leftists and extreme righties have much more in common, than with the rest of the political parties. It sounds weird, but switching between them is very easy.

I totally believe that.  It's so weird that the extremists can't see the difference.
