I just wanted say hello say it`s a pleasure being here. I`m just a hobbyist who enjoys thumpin on the Bass. I have a little short scale Gretsch and a old knock off, both suit me well. After the holidays I plan on getting a Ibanez AEB10E Acoustic Bass.

Welcome from the British contingency...
Don't worry about our Mark, she prefers something a bit more substantial in her hands... ;D
Welcome aboard. This place can make you raid your savings the longer you hang around. Before you know it, you've got a Thunderbird, and you're looking for ways to mod it... :toast:
Nice Gretsch & welcome
Welcome Garrett !
Welcome Garrett.
Cool Gretsch you got!
Guten Tag, Garrett, you are now a permanent guest of ze Reich! Escape is futile.
Test question: Does finish influence sound? And if it did, would we be allowed to say so before "him whose name cannot be mentioned"?
I think I have finaly managed to secure the proof that "Finish does affect sound..."
You will find the evidence at 26-28 seconds in... anything past that point is at your own risk, as is opening this in the first place... language and images are not meant for younger viewers...

Welcome Garrett!
Welcome aboard, Garrett. It's always good to add new blood to the mix around here. I hope you enjoy the place as much as I do. This is the best group of guys I've ever run into on the 'net.
finish does influence sound. a heavily laquered and cleared acoustic bass or guitar versus a satin finish one for example. no contest which 'sounds' better, to me anyway.
Yes, Welcome!

Should be "Does finish influence collecting habits?"
Welcome Garrett. Unlike most forums where it is either frowned upon or banned, digression is a prerequisite here. Enjoy :)

Welcome, Garrett...I have that same Gretsch 2202 and really like it. Just put the same pickup into a Bronco bass, too.
Enjoy the place!

Always nice to see more Gretsch owners :)
Welcome....though you'll regret it..
Nice to see a new face. Here's the lowdown: there's a lot weird anal sex jokes, WWII references and car/motorcycle nuts on here, so in case any thread ever gets too boring or stays too much on topic, drop a mention of any of those and you're golden.
Thanks for the warm welcome....It`s appreciated!

Lets not forget the other official test question: Chrome or black/plastic?
Oh, and if you are posting pics of anything chrome kindly make sure that you are properly clothed ;)
My only recommendation to you Garrett would be to buy a plastic cover for your keyboard. Much coffee, by many here has been ejaculated over computer components since I've been here.

I'm not sure I like the tone of that comment, Billy... I had enough problems being picked on as the fat kid at school... being beaten to death or thrown off the cliff for being XL is another matter... :o ;D

Virginity is a sickness waiting to be healed. If you're healed, you pass the test. Simple as that.
