Magnificently different.
I like the design
Except for the braided pickup wire that is on the outside. It ruins the über clean looks (imho). I understand that the pickup can move freely. It is attached to the body via magnets.
But I would have designed a slot for that wire to sink into.

I'd love to try one . Short scale too !
Here's a little demo

Ermm... that's the same demo as in my post?
It's fun to look at, but (IMHO) not very practical for anything more than bedroom noodling.

Sorry , my tablet is not showing video links ...
Sounds good, looks cute, but not $3K cute. The free-floating pickup is a nice idea.
I might argue that it's not a "radically different" design, but merely a "bad" variation of a very standard design.
Doesn't float my boat.

But it could paddle your canoe.

And do double duty as a Louisville Slugger.
That's about as appealing as a bass shaped like a briefcase.
If Steelcase made a bass, that would be it. Needs a pencil drawer.
I read about this some years ago in a British guitar magazine and I do like the whole story behind it.

BWHAHAHAHA
That's nothing new, my Mexican does these all the time. Chicken, beef or veggie?

Cutting edge technology that bridge is. No less.
PS: The Tortilla Bass sounds nicely organic, I'll give it that.
