I finally was able to go see Avatar in IMAX 3D. I thought it was pretty good and the visual effects were pretty good.

It has already been reported that a sex scene is planned to be part of the deleted scenes when it is released on DVD/Blu-ray.

Edit: From the script:

Cameron now has top two grossing films...

Talk of a lot of retrofitting of older hit movies to re-issue as 3D...

Lord of the Rings is high up the list, as is Star Wars...

What would you lot want to see ("BLADERUNNER" please...) ...?

Seems a lot less messier than the way we do it.

Some of you might be amused by this (or not): Avatar plot = Disney's Pocahontas  :)

Dave, I'd heard there was a similarity but to see it spelled out like that was hilarious. Thanks!

After the Hunchback, Pocahontas is my second favorite of the post-sixties Disney films. So that does make me hopeful for Avatar.

Seriously, the "noble savage girl (or man) meets civilized white man (or woman), their love draws them together, but loyaltydraws them apart is an age-old variation of Romeo & Juliet. James Cameron certainly didn't invent it, but neither did the Disney people.

You have just GOT to see it in 3D, Uwe

If we're talking post 60's Disney, I gotta admit a liking for Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, and Brother Bear, too...

His death hit me harder than JFK's.  I had grown up watching Walt - not true of JFK, who died when I was 13.
